Abstract

This article examines injury patterns among Generation Z padel players through a complex systems lens. It argues that injuries are not isolated accidents but disruptions in the body's biomechanical homeostasis caused by explosive movements and rigid equipment (e.g., carbon fiber rackets). The researchers propose a "Physical Shielding" (Blindaje Físico) model, a preventive approach focused on restoring "tensegrity" and enhancing the body's resilience to mechanical stress. A key finding is the significance of prodromal states—subtle warning signs like minor inflammation that are often ignored by young athletes in favor of performance. The study reveals gender-specific patterns: men are more prone to shoulder issues, while women experience higher rates of tennis elbow (epicondylitis). Ultimately, the study advocates for a shift from traditional fitness goals to a holistic "pre-habilitation" strategy that integrates ergonomic adjustments, eccentric training, and biological self-awareness.

Resumen:
Este artículo examina los patrones de lesión entre jugadores de pádel de la Generación Z desde la perspectiva de los sistemas complejos. Sostiene que las lesiones no constituyen accidentes aislados, sino alteraciones de la homeostasis biomecánica del cuerpo provocadas por movimientos explosivos y equipamiento rígido, como las palas de fibra de carbono.

Los investigadores proponen un modelo de «Blindaje Físico», un enfoque preventivo centrado en restaurar la «tensegridad» y aumentar la capacidad del cuerpo para resistir el estrés mecánico. Un hallazgo clave es la importancia de los estados prodrómicos, es decir, señales de advertencia sutiles, como inflamaciones leves, que los atletas jóvenes suelen ignorar en favor del rendimiento.

El estudio revela patrones específicos según el sexo: los hombres presentan una mayor predisposición a problemas en el hombro, mientras que las mujeres muestran tasas más elevadas de codo de tenista (epicondilitis).

En última instancia, el estudio aboga por sustituir los objetivos tradicionales de acondicionamiento físico por una estrategia holística de «prehabilitación» que integre ajustes ergonómicos, entrenamiento excéntrico y autoconciencia biológica.
